Training of Olympic swimmers – Science is not just a miracle cure

On the camps that the Spanish National team and training squads had at Tuks and the hpc, I clearly remember the amount of testing that Inigo Mujika did on the swimmers, with the buy in of the coaches.

This continuous testing was underpinned by a work ethic of no compromise and hard training!

Science is only valuable when the athlete is still willing to put in the hard yards! It’s not a miracle cure!

The success of this hard, no compromise science supported process was and has been evident in the Spanish swimmers performances over the last few years.
